So half my life is spent running around London city, to jobs, meetings, events and press days… oh and the gym. It’s important for me to be able to transition from very different appointments and also from day to night. Another important thing is being smart but also cool and if you read this blog or are familiar with me you know smart meets casual is my thing!
Todays look is all about the slip dress and how to wear it in a casual day way. This dress would also look great with heels on its own but I’ll do that another time. Heels aren’t my friend when I’m running around press days and that’s where todays post is at!
So as you can see this look is all about layering. A band tee, a slip dress, a cropped hoody, a biker jacket, a scarf, tights with socks and trainers and a Gucci handbag to give me that luxe edge! There were a lot of words in one sentence there, but I think it makes the point about the layers…
Oh and of-course don’t forget a chocker, that’s where I flaunt my rock chic side along with the Marilyn Manson tee just poking out under the dress…
Obviously I’m wearing trainers, the new ‘Beautiful x Powerful’ Cortez by Nike @ Footlocker to be precise. That’s me keeping my sneaker/streetwear side in the loop. See I’m quite a complex soul, there are many elements that go into making up my ‘style’ and sneakers or streetwear have to be involved. The dress; well that’s my girly side. The bag well that’s my stylish, posh, luxurious side. The hoody is for warmth and the jacket is my biker / rock chic coming into play again.
