In November I had the chance to visit the lovely seaside town of Margate, well in-fact I started at Ramsgate and walked to Margsate as part of a press trip. Read about it here; Margate Trip with Parka. The lovely amazingly talented Garcon Jon took those pictures but along the way I also took some of my own. I wanted to share those images with you in a second blog post (this one) and give you an insight into our hotel; The Sands Hotel in Margate which I didn’t want to leave!

This is an image of the sunset on the way to Margate from Ramsgate:

Here’s an image of the room I stayed in at The Sands Hotel, a boutique but classy hotel with ample sized rooms and beautiful decor.

Just look at that mirror – how great would it be if I had this to snap in everyday! haha.

The bathroom again was large and elegantly decorated with clean white and sand colourings. Marble and stone decor with silver finishings.

Downstairs is a bar and restaurant overlooking the Margate beach which I annoyingly didn’t take any photos of. But you can see some on their website here. The view at breakfast was beautiful and both at breakfast and dinner they went out of their way to accommodate my vegetarian/gluten free dietary needs! The food I must say, was top class and the staff were lovely.

The hotel and the bar / restaurant aren’t very big but this makes for a comforting yet classy atmosphere. The decor is grand but because it is a boutique feel it isn’t over the top.

Below are some images of the surroundings on my travels walking around the area during the trip. Kent is really beautiful in parts and has a fun yet calm atmosphere. I really love the idea and vibe of towns and cities on the water front as it gives you the perfect balance of busy and calm.
