I finally went to COMIC CON!
As a self proclaimed geek I have always wanted to go to Comic Con, yet never made it happen. Finally my friends at EMP invited me and I had to make myself free, it was finally Cosplay time…
So I had to choose something from my favourite website: http://www.emp.co.uk/ luckily they make loads of Cosplay and official merchandise for movies, comics etc…
I’m really into creepy but cute, yeah…that’s a thing. And as it was Halloween weekend I figured I would go for The Nightmare Before Christmas. I saw an awesome reversible Sally / Jack dress and figured to outfits in one was a great plan. I decided o go as Sally and can use the jack side at a later date.
I bought a real red wig from a wig shop near me in East London and used make up from various brands to create my Sally look, and off I went to Comic Con. First off on a DLR by myself which was a laugh I can tell you! When I arrived I was surrounded by Cosplay kids and felt very at home.
So many people asked to take photos with me, guys and girls. One guy told me he loved me…really though he loved Sally so I had to let him go…
The day was insane, looking at all the crazy costumes, amazing stands selling outfits, merch, food etc…
There were screening rooms and theatres for talks and Cosplay competitions, meet ups like the Disney meet up and Rick and Morty meet up… where people all dressed as those characters meet up to share their costumes.
The EMP stand was full of inane merchandise and they had a really cool photobooth with creepy backgrounds.
I would 100% go again, I would say Saturday was verrryyy busy so it did take a long time to get around as the space is massive. Possibly a Friday is a bit more chilled out but either way it was really fun.
