What does living my best life mean to me?

Coming out of my comfort zones and doing fun things everyday! Including daring myself to be brave with colourful outfits…

Embracing London’s most beautiful pastel streets is one of my favourite things to do. So for this shoot I decided to bring some spring / summer colours alive, in reality I was a little nippy!

When you are feeling down, a good way to brighten up your day is with your clothes. Try it out! Or with your make up, wear a nice red lippy and you will instantly smile.

When I see images of people wearing all over print two piece suits I always think, damn that’s so cool. I’ve used them in styling models/musicians in the past and it’s always a sure fire win. But when it comes to wearing them myself, I quite often back out… I just look at them and think oh god no, I’m going to look over the top. But when I saw this two piece, I thought come on Kitty, you can make this look dope…go for it! So well, as you can clearly see… I did.

It’s bright though isn’t it!?

I took a two step approach; one make it look cool (not just cute), and two; try and keep things outside of the suit fairly simple.

In order to do that I decided to bring out colours from it…hence matching it with these amazing, pastel pink UGG trainers. It’s a match made in heaven really. And yes it does help that they co-ordinate with my hair. The other tones I took from the pattern (as you can see) were Red and White. Keeping the rest of the colours co-ordinated and minimal helps to keep the look from looking overdone.

So to add the cool element, firstly by pairing it with trainers rather than heels / shoes helps to dress it down. Then adding a streetwear, slogan tee to give the suit a modern, on trend twist and then adding a smart, designer handbag to give the look some class and keep it girly… balancing out the masculine tee and casual trainers.

I like to think of putting outfits together a bit like a recipe. The different ingredients bring out the desired flavour I’m trying to go for.
