Today’s post is not only about my outfit but also my mentality. Obviously I work in fashion and so clothes are a big part of my life. I enjoy playing with fashion and looks as it’s a creative interest I have. But on top of that I want to talk about how what you wear can really change your mood and mentality.
For me finding my personal style was and still is always a journey about my lessons and adventures in life. The reason I’m so into juxtaposed style and combining different styles is because that’s an amalgamation of my interests. And showing that in what I wear helps me to feel like me. I really like hip hop for example but I’m also a big rock & metal fan. I’m super girly but also a total tomboy. If I dress too much one way I feel uncomfortable and that’s why and how I’ve learned to combine styles to create my own.
I think it’s really important to understand what makes you tick and find what best way to incorporate that into your style. When you feel true to yourself in your appearance it changes your mood, adds confidence and makes you feel happier. Positive mental attitude is a powerful tool and the key to your dreams. Taking care of your health, body and mind means taking care of your future and it can honestly start with as little as an outfit.
My outfit today makes me happy because I’m balancing girly, tomboy and casual / smart. Obviously my hoody is incredibly casual but the top and skirt could be worn in the office / to an event. My sneakers keep me casual but their premium design adds a touch of glam. I feel at my best when I’m ready for an occasion but also when I feel cool hence why I always keep an element of street or sometimes rock/punk in my looks.
I hope this post makes anyone struggling with either their style or mentality realise it’s a fun journey but an important one.
