Yes I’m finally posting something self-help related. I don’t know why I say finally like you have all been waiting for it, but it’s more finally because I’ve been meaning to for a while. And I have been meaning to because over the past 3-4 years I’ve been on a MASSIVE journey and totally changed in many good ways… I’m most definitely the same person, but a much happier one and thus much better to deal with too…

I’ve read self help books, relationship advice books (when I was going through a massive break up), watched videos on anger management (yes it was that deep), taken up Yoga, running and working out in general. Discovering how to deal with myself has helped me be able to in turn deal with my life and the people in it and that I come up against better too. My career has boomed and my mind is a much happier place to be. Everyones journeys are different but the most important thing I can tell you is that reading self help books / blogs/ watching videos is really useful. Now I DO NOT mean take them as bible at all, but learn and listen and take them in, many of them not just one so that you can see what works best for you.

One book was sent to me recently to check out and yes promote (I’m open about these things), I wasn’t however asked to blog about it – just social media promo. But I reallllly like it and so I wanted to share it with my blog readers too. That book is called ‘Get Your Sh*t Together’ by Sarah Knight who also wrote a book called ‘The Life-Changing Magic of Not Giving a F**k.’ Sounds pretty good right? The hard, honest approach she has to writing is seriously refreshing. She’s not bullshitting you, she’s laying out her techniques in simple ways, telling you them straight and talking in a very down to earth tone. Yes she does swear but it’s not gimmicky, it works. It’s also funny and it’s realllly worth a read. I mean to be honest I don’t overly need to read many more of these books but once I started it was clear her approaches were ones I had learned to use over the last few years, just cleaner, more direct and better versions of them. She is helping to streamline my already intact knowledge of how to be the best version of me. In fact it’s probably because it’s written down for me to see clearly and that’s very useful.
