In the heart of Camden Market lies a Cuban bar with more soul than Latin America! Okay so maybe that’s an exaggeration but it was the most lively, soulful, jazzy restaurant I’ve been to in London in a while….

I went however to try the food and I couldn’t finish my plate!

We started with a sharing platter of Nachos, definitely enough for two which was a great opener for the mains.

I had the Chargrilled Halloumi salad which came with aubergine, tomatoes, seasonal leaves, basil and pomegranate dressing and we shared Thick Cut Chips and Peri Peri  Fries (would recommend!). My dining partner had the Chilli Crusted Salmon Fillet seasoned with garlic, chilli & tomato, served with cristianos y moros (aka rice and beans). He cleared it all but we still had nachos and fries left over!

I first had a bramble cocktail to wash it all down which is one of my favourite cocktails and was made very well at The Cuban. I then had a Mojito of which they have loads of variations to try which go perfectly with the food. Fresh, fruity and strong enough to keep your spirits high!

The service was great, our waitress was so lovely and helpful which we really appreciated.

The live music made for a really fun night of entertainment after eating and everybody that got up to perform had serious talent. Sometimes open mic nights can seriously drag in London but we were very impressed.
