This week I had the pleasure of attending a press event with UK based womenswear brand Glamorous. The event was focussed on denim customisation which we all know has been very popular recently. I know it’s not Friday today … it’s Monday but we shot this friday SO…
I had to give it a go and I grabbed some paint and hit one of their jackets up. I went for a mix of punk rock and 70’s hippy to create my own look. After painting the jacket at the event I took it home to work on it more as I knew I had some gems stashed ready for a new jacket. When I say gems I mean patches and pins. I collect patches and pins and am always waiting for my next ‘project’ piece to throw my latest stash all over.
Here’s the final products – thus far. This is most definitely still a work in progress and I’m really excited about making it my new favourite custom piece.
On top of that I’ve wanted a shearling style lined denim jacket for ages so it all came together pretty well! I think the thing to remember about customisation is to have fun and put your personality into it. I like rough paint ideas and I don’t mind them not looking incredible as they are just a base for my patches in my opinion. I leave the amazing text and paint designs to the professionals for sure.
